5 reasons to visit Myanmar now Apr 5th 2012, 13:34 The easing of travel restrictions for U.S. citizen to Myanmar, also known as Burma, will made it easier than ever to explore the wonders of the long-closed country.  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Wednesday that the U.S. will begin to lessen travel rules for the first time since the 1990's, when the nation was unofficially closed to tourism after the imprisonment of democracy activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. After Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy parliamentary victory on Sunday, the LA Times reported that Asia's Intrepid Travel tour company has doubled the number of tours it leads to Myanmar.
