The world's most vacation-deprived countries Nov 16th 2012, 18:51 There are just a few more weeks to burn vacation days before the end of the year.  If you're hesitant about taking that last minute vacation for the holidays, consider this: Americans get and use some of the fewest vacation days in the world. Yet according to Expedia's 2012 Vacation Deprivation survey  Americans still leave two days unused on average-- taking 10 out of a possible 12-14 vacation days.  Reasons for the unused days include those who want to bank days for the future and lack of coordination with family and friends, says Expedia's poll which questioned thousands of people in 22 countries.  The survey also points to lack of money to travel and unsupportive bosses who make it hard to take the time off. But if you think we've got it bad, image living in Asia. Japan was the most vacation-deprived, with its employees taking only five of the 13 days off offered each year. South Koreans trailed right behind --taking seven out of a possible 10 vacation days It's no surprise that Spanish and French workers take the full 30 days given, while in Germany, an average of 28 out of 30 are taken annually. In the U.K., most workers are allotted 25 days vacation and use them all.  Of note, Italians forfeit some of the most of their vacation days, with an average unused 8 vacation days each year.
